Educational Programs & Annual Seminar
FAPTP serves as an educational resource for pediatric hematology/oncology concerns, including various cancers, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, HIV, and AIDS. Our nationally attended conference on childhood cancer and blood disorders is now in its 31st year. The seminar provides continuing education for healthcare professionals and a forum to discuss treatment and supportive care issues with nationally renowned experts. The seminar draws approximately 225 nurses and other health professionals annually. Participants from outside of Florida comprise half of the total attendance, demonstrating the national recognition of the seminar.
FAPTP Centers throughout Florida provide a variety of educational services in their communities as well. Their staff members provide education and support to patients, parents, medical professionals and the general public. |
