small boyFor over three decades, the Florida Association of Pediatric Tumor Programs (FAPTP), Inc. has carried out its mission to help improve childhood cancer care in Florida. As its programs have grown and matured, FAPTP continues to attract special recognition both in Florida and nationally.

FAPTP began in 1970 as a coordinated statewide network of Children’s Cancer Programs under the auspices of the Florida Regional Medical Program (FRMP). In 1973, the FRMP participants created a nonprofit corporation called the Florida Association of Pediatric Tumor Programs, Inc. (FAPTP) to:

  • unite Florida physicians interested and knowledgeable in pediatric oncology
  • promote the science and practice of the specialty
  • maintain high standards of care and research

Under FAPTP's auspices, a statewide pediatric cancer registry has been in operation since 1980 to monitor incidence and prevalence of cancers in children. More >>>

FAPTP collects data from member institutions to conduct epidemiologic studies, clinical trials and cancer control protocols. Staff members respond to data requests from private and government agencies...
